Watch it...or not : week 30

Now it's done, I have seen all full-length movie of Alejandro González Iñárritu. Here they are, in order of preference :

 Amores Perros (Amours chiennes)  ♥♥♥/♥♥♥

I discovered Gael Garcia Bernal in this movie.

First full-length movie by Iñárritu but definitely my favorite. It really touched me. What is love after all? As per this movie, love is betrayal, sin, selfish, hope, pain...death.
Highly recommended!

Biutiful ♥♥♥/♥♥♥

Very touching job done by Javier Bardem.

One more time, Iñárritu is dealing with his favorite topic in this movie which is death and what is happening then.

The character of Uxbal is very touching. Although he is not making money in a very honest way, he's trying to do his best to help people that need it. His mental wife, the immigrants in Barcelona, mourning people...How would you live your life if you knew you were going to die soon?

21 Grams   ♥♥♥/♥♥♥

One more movie about the favorite subjects of this director : guilt, love and death.
We're told that 21 grams is the weight you lose when you die. The weight of your soul?

Very good cast with Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Naomi Watts.

Babel  ♥♥/♥♥♥

Not my favorite movie. Even though the 3 interlocking stories schemes was interesting (kind of a butterfly effect), I found the part with Blanchett and Pitt a bit too cold and not as human as the 2 other stories.

It shows how hard it is to understand the others. First because there are different languages and cultures, but also within the same culture, you don't always have enough empathy to understand what is going in someone else's head.
